The Office of State Representative Christina Morales is accepting applications for Legislative Interns to serve in our Austin Capitol Office and Houston District Office. This is an excellent opportunity for students and recent graduates interested in public service, state government, communications, public policy, or constituent advocacy.
Interns work directly alongside legislative and district staff, gaining firsthand experience in the Texas legislative process, constituent services, community engagement, and public policy. Internships require approximately 15–20 hours per week. Note: this is an unpaid position.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting with legislative and policy research
- Responding to constituent correspondence and inquiries
- Drafting letters, certificates, and resolutions
- Supporting constituent services and casework
- Assisting with scheduling and office operations
- Creating content for social media and newsletters
- Attending community events and legislative meetings
- Completing special projects as assigned
Qualifications:
- Applicants should be current undergraduate or graduate students, or recent graduates, with an interest in public policy, government, communications, or public service. Candidates should possess strong communication and organizational skills, attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Bilingual English/Spanish applicants are encouraged to apply.
