Texas House of Representatives

SUMMARY:  Work involves the design, preparation, and production of multimedia content using photographic equipment for use in print and online.  All work performed under the direct supervision of the House Digital Media Department manager.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

• Proficiency in the use of digital camera equipment and applications.
• Work with Profoto studio lighting equipment, Noritsu photo printer, mounts photographs.
• Scanning and working with old film and slides.
• Must have flexibility to work extended hours and weekends when required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in computer graphics, communications, film, fine art, or a related field is generally preferred.  Should have extensive experience in digital photography, studio lighting, Adobe lightroom and Photoshop skills.  Considerable progressive experience in professional photography is preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:  Ability to make technical photographic adjustments for a variety of lighting and shooting conditions.  Familiarity with Canon and Adobe products is preferred.  Ability to work under direct and indirect supervision regarding photographic techniques and related issues.  Ability to communicate effectively with House Members and their staff regarding photography assignments.  Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervising personnel and co-workers. Must adhere to department dress code and demonstrate the ability to follow House Business Office and House Photography rules, policies and procedures as set forth in the Personnel Manual of Policies and Procedures.
