Rep. Hopper, Andy

Biography

Representative Andy Hopper has served House District 64 since 2025, representing all of Wise and part of Denton Counties. Since being sworn in for the 89th Legislative Session, he has fought daily to defend Texas sovereignty, to strengthen border security, to secure our elections, to cut government spending, and to protect Texas’ conservative Christian values.

Representative Hopper graduated from the University of North Texas in 2000 and also taught at UNT as an adjunct professor. For the past 29 years, he has worked as a software engineer in the defense industry and owns a small, successful software company. In 2014, he joined the Texas State Guard, where he continues to serve today as a Chief Warrant Officer.

He and his wife, Amanda, have been married for 28 years, and together they raised and homeschooled their three sons. They lived in Denton for 12 years until, in 2010, they moved to a small farm in Wise County, where they currently reside.
