The Office of Texas State Representative Brooks Landgraf is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Legislative Director to support legislative, policy, and constituent service operations in a fast-paced office environment. The position is available for immediate start.
Key Responsibilities:
- Answer phones and serve as a primary point of contact for constituents.
- Respond to constituent inquiries and requests for assistance, including managing casework with state agencies.
- Handle constituent correspondence, including drafting and tracking responses.
- Conduct bill research and assist with bill drafting and legislative analysis.
- Monitor local and statewide issues and provide timely policy updates to the Representative, Chief of Staff, and Deputy Chief of Staff.
- Assist in drafting district communications, including correspondence, press releases, and newsletters.
- Support community outreach efforts and maintain relationships with local stakeholders.
- Assist in coordinating events, town halls, and outreach activities on behalf of the Representative.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the overall operations of the office.
Required Skills and Background:
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with Texas state government and legislative processes is strongly preferred.
- Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends to support community events and outreach activities.
Salary and Benefits:
