AUSTIN - Today State Representative Lynn Stucky (Denton) was named to the House Appropriations subcommittee on Article III, an important committee that oversees funding the states public schools, colleges and universities.

"I am honored to be named to this important subcommittee. I want to thank Chairman Zerwas for his confidence in my abilities to provide a meaningful contribution to this subcommittee," Rep. Stucky said after the committee announcement. "This assignment is important for my district and millions of Texans who are calling out for more support of public education. I look forward to working with Chairman Greg Bonnen and Vice-Chair Armando Walle on this crucial mission."

Before joining the Texas Legislature, Rep. Stucky spent 15 years on the Sanger ISD School Board -- including four years as president of the board. The sophomore representative, who also serves as Vice-Chair of the House Committee on Higher Education, said he will use previous experience to make informed decisions when it comes to funding public education.
