by: Rep. Lambert, Stan
02/09/2017

Austin, Texas- The Rural Caucus of the Texas Legislature held its organizational meeting for the 85th Legislative Session on February 9, 2017. Comprised of members from the House and the Senate, the Rural Caucus is a bi-partisan group of legislators that meets during session to communicate with the Legislature on matters of interest to rural Texans.

"I'm very honored to serve my district as a Vice-Chair of the Rural Caucus," Rep. Lambert (Abilene) said. "It is a privilege to work on behalf of rural Texans to maintain an effective presence in the legislative process. With 172 rural counties in Texas, our common concerns need to be heard."

Founded in 1999, the Texas Rural Caucus acts as an informational resource for members of the Texas Legislature on issues that impact rural areas of Texas.
